SERVICE MANAGER

This is the ideal opportunity for a knowledgeable engineering team manager with exceptional knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems looking to further their career with a market-leader. 

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of 6 and taking charge of the day-to-day running of our Service Department. Taking a customer-focused approach at all times, you will work in close collaboration with the Turf-Care Sales Manager to prepare and present service contracts to committees and customers. You will also take a proactive stance to attending customer sites in order to build relationships and promote the work of the Service Department.

You will create annual targets and budgets in line with company objectives and ensure the effective delivery of marketing campaigns and promotional events for the Service Department in order to successfully achieve targets. 

To be considered, you must have:

  • Previous experience of managing a team of engineers
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of garden and grounds care machinery
  • Excellent skills in operating equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • A good level of IT Literacy, including MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent telephone manner and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Experience with the John Deere brand would be beneficial to your application.
  • A City & Guilds Level 2, NVQ Level 3, or LTA Level 2 in agriculture and/or horticultural engineering would also be an advantage.
