YORKSHIRE DEALER RE-SHUFFLE
Thompson Groundcare territory extended

Nick Thompson (left) welcomes Chris Barnacle to the Thompson Groundcare team. They have also added the Iseki franchise to the product offering

Ransomes Jacobsen has completed the reallocation of dealer territory in Yorkshire, extending the area covered by their existing dealer, Thompsons Groundcare Ltd, to include York, Selby and the remaining areas of north and east Yorkshire, east of the A1 trunk road.

This complements the recent appointment of Gibson Groundscare Machinery, the Ransomes Jacobsen main dealer for west Yorkshire and north Yorkshire, west of the A1.

Chris Barnacle, former sales representative with Ransomes dealers Golf & Turf Machinery, has joined the Thompsons Groundcare team to provide additional sales support and continuity for existing customers in the area.

Operating from a modern depot at Hutton Cranswick near Driffield, Thompsons Groundcare is a family-owned business established over 30 years ago to serve the agricultural sector. They were appointed as a Ransomes jacobsen dealer in 2009 and with their elevation to main dealer status have also acquired the Iseki distribtion for their territory.

Commenting on their appointment, Nick Brown, Ransomes Jacobsen's Sales Manager, UK & Ireland said, "We now have two very professional dealers representing our product offering across Yorkshire. In line with our policy of ensuring that we have touch points in all relevant locations across the UK, this extension to Thompson's territory and product offering will provide enhanced service levels for customers and additional opportunities to grow the business."

Nick Thompson, Managing Director added, "We are obviously delighted with the extension of our trading area and the appointment of Chris Barnacle is a welcome addition to our sales team. He joins us with years of experience in the groundscare sector and has been serving the territory in his previous role with the former dealer, so he is providing continuity as well. We look forward with anticipation to increasing market share across our territory."
