MORE BIGGA MEMBERS THAN EVER TO VISIT TPC SAWGRASS
Six members to travel to Florida next year
The 2017 BIGGA delegation who attended TPC Sawgrass for the Players Championship back in May described the experience as an “unforgettable” experience.
Once again John Deere is inviting the association's members to apply for next year’s volunteer programme, meaning even more members will experience the career-changing opportunities that come with preparing one of the world’s most iconic courses for one of golf’s largest events.
As before, one Full Member from each of BIGGA’s five regions will be invited on to the all-expenses paid trip to Florida, where they will join around 75 greenkeepers from all over the world and ensure the course is in pristine condition for the event, held from 8-13 May 2018.
For the first time ever, an additional member from overseas will also be invited to join the team, meaning six BIGGA delegates will be travelling to the US next year.
One of this year’s delegates Richard Johnstone, of Dunbar said of his trip to TPC Sawgrass, “The whole experience surpassed anything I had ever expected. I would highly recommend the programme to anyone who wants to be part of something very special.” The deadline for registering interest is 28 July 2017.
