Since my early 20s I have always sought to buy British. It started as a joinery apprentice where I would only buy British tools. I’m 51 now and although I love my craft my hobby is gardening and lawn care now. As we all do I started surfing YouTube for tips on lawncare, then realised with good experience that I needed a tool to take our lawn to the next level. I bought an Allett Mower last year and I can honestly say it has been the best lawnmower I have ever owned. As a massive bonus they are made in Great Britain ❤️
''Overall I’m very pleased and impressed with the Stirling and love its ease of use, fast cartridge change and the ability to adjust the travel speed without affecting the reel speed. The Stirling is a game changer and so easy to operate, set up and adjust I cant fault it and would recommend to anyone considering it or looking for a cylinder or cartridge system machine''
“I’ve been using the Allett Stirling for a few months now and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The precision of the cut is fantastic and it leaves my lawn looking immaculate every time. It's really easy to manoeuvre around my garden plus I love that it’s a British brand – it’s great to support local manufacturers. If you're looking for a reliable, top-quality mower I highly recommend the Allett Stirling!''

''I highly recommend Allett if you are looking to buy a new lawnmower. I purchased a Classic petrol mower and the model I requested was out of stock but the website hadn’t been updated. As a consequence I received a telephone call within 24 hrs of my order and was offered an upgrade for the price of the model I ordered. This sort of generosity and service is rare these days. I received my new mower within a week of ordering and I’m very pleased with it! It came with clear instructions on how to set it up and runs like a dream. I’m looking forward to next spring when I can get work on my lawn cutting and scarifying. Thank you Allett a great investment''

''I am very pleased with the speed of delivery and the quality of the mower. I have always preferred a cylinder mower rather that a rotary blade. The "scissor" cut of the cylinder is cleaner and less damaging to the grass. The battery powered Liberty is surprisingly light and easy to use'' (Liberty 30)

''I purchased a Allett Lawn Levelling Lute. Amazing quality, great delivery and first class second to none customer service from a lovely polite very professional lady called Laura''
Ali Shoudjae
"I am really impressed with the turf rake scarifying cartridge, it does a great job of picking up debris and standing the lawn up. The mower itself performs excellently and the battery-powered system is a massive advantage—no need for fuel, no noise disruption and much better for sustainability. The adjustable height-of-cut feature is a game-changer, making precision mowing effortless. The grass deflectors fill the box evenly and efficiently and the variable speed dial makes it easy to adjust as you work. After using this machine going back to petrol would feel like a big step backwards."

"A brilliant machine! Expensive but very good and worth the money."
Peter Hunkin, Allett Liberty 35 owner, Bishop's Stortford, UK
“Our club needed a reliable mower that could keep up with the demands of multiple teams using the pitch every day. The Allett C34E has been a perfect fit. The adjustable height settings make it easy to switch between different grass lengths and the cassette system means we can verticut and scarify when needed. We’ve also found that battery-powered mowing has drastically reduced our running costs. It’s an all-round fantastic machine!”
Alex Turner
''The C27E is a brilliantly versatile piece of equipment. As lawn care contractors this allows us to run a compact, neat setup inside our vans and does away with the need for multiple machines. The solid build quality gives us the confidence to tackle whatever a client lawn throws at us, it can handle everything from sports turf and other special use lawn areas to a standard home lawn. The cut and finish quality is sensational. Battery power has proved reliable and is extremely low maintenance''
(Conrad Brookman, Volt Mowing, Australia) https://www.voltmowing.com/services
''For the past few years, we’ve gone against the common advice of shutting down the green in October for deep scarification, top dressing and reseeding. Instead, we’ve taken a more traditional approach, avoiding chemicals and fertilisers altogether. We’ve been using seaweed extracts and sugars to naturally regenerate the soil biology, which has worked well for us. For nearly two years we’ve been trialling the new battery-powered Allett mower as part of a testing programme with Allett and I’ve been really impressed with it. One battery lasts for an entire cutting session of the green though for heavier tasks like scarifying, a second battery may be needed as a backup. The mower is very quiet, easy to use and features a speed control dial which allows me to adjust the pace to my own walking speed. Having controls on both sides prevents hand ache and I can switch hands as often as I like. For smaller clubs with limited budgets, it’s an excellent option, as it’s much cheaper than the professional models. The electric mower is also lighter which is great for elderly volunteers. Every other week, we use the sorrel roller with short spikes to aerate the top part of the green. We also use the verticutter to keep on top of horizontal flat lying grasses. The monthly aeration is vital for ensuring the roots penetrate deep into the soil."
(Chris Robinson, Greenkeeper, Stafford Bowling Club , C20 and Stirling Sport)
For many years, we struggled with old machinery that constantly needed repairs. We did manage to get one good second-hand machine which we used fairly recently but after extending our club and receiving grants for that, we were advised to get an eco-friendly machine. We searched around and came across the Allett battery Stirling machine. Since buying it the team actually love using it so much that I had only managed to use it once myself in the year we had it- they were all fighting to get their turn! It is such an easy machine to use with simple turn dials for setup—no spanners or measuring gauges required. You just turn a dial, set the machine up, push a button and off you go cutting the green. We bought three cartridges: a Verticut cartridge, a mowing cartridge. Changing the cartridges was so easy—just pull a lever, take out the old one, pop in the new one, push the lever back, and within a minute the change is done- as easy as that. Setting up the machine was also straightforward—no spanners or gauges. You simply used the control knob on the side of the machine, with all the measurements marked clearly. If you wanted a 5mm cut you just turned the dial to the 5 marker and off you go. The machine is nice and quiet while running which was a big plus for us. We didn’t have many neighbours but there was a pub next door and this machine saves on engine noise. It runs quietly, similar to a battery car so there is no disturbance to our neighbours even the people on the allotments appreciate it. With the modern focus on being environmentally friendly, I think this machine is the right choice. It’s likely that if you speak to people about grants, having an eco-friendly machine on your list could move you several steps forward in securing those grants."
Martin Biddle Margaret Catch Bowl Bowls Club, Stirling Sport
After seeing demonstrations of the Allett C20 at Hixon and on our own green here in Cannock, we decided it would be a valuable investment. As the treasurer and greenkeeper, I, Bill Evans, along with Vice Captain Tony Rose recognised that the mower's cartridges would allow us to manage the green more effectively and minimise the need for external workers. Our green requires significant maintenance with mowing happening on Sundays and a couple of times throughout the week. The investment of the C20 and cartridges has supported us in maintaining the green’s condition especially given the challenges we face with thatch and drainage. This mower was the ideal solution for our needs."
(Bill Evans, Treasurer and Greenkeeper Cannock Bowling Green Club, Allett C20)
'I’ve had the pleasure of using several Allett machines over the years, starting with the C24 at Briton Ferry Town Cricket Club (BFTCC). The C24 was an excellent piece of kit, known for its reliability and precision, and it made a significant difference to the quality of the ground. Now, at Briton Ferry Steel Cricket Club, we’ve upgraded to the Allett Stirling 51, which we purchased last season. This machine has been a game-changer for us. I’ve had the chance to use it throughout the winter months and while I haven’t yet prepared a wicket with it I’m really looking forward to putting it to the test in the upcoming season. Tim, David, and Neil, my fellow Groundsmen at the club, are equally excited to spend a full season with the Stirling 51 as it’s already proven itself to be a reliable and efficient tool.
The Stirling 51 is already proving to be an excellent investment, and I’m excited to see how it performs through the full season of wicket preparation. It’s been a long-awaited upgrade and the feedback from all the Groundsmen at the club has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re looking forward to seeing our wickets and square benefit from its continued use and I’m confident it will help us maintain the highest quality of play for years to come.
'We decided to invest in the Allett Stirling because we were in desperate need of an upgrade and after researching extensively through YouTube reviews and doing our homework it quickly became clear that the Stirling was the perfect fit for our needs. One of the key factors that sold us on the Stirling was its sustainability. With its zero emissions and fume-free operation we no longer have to worry about collecting fuel on a weekly basis or the negative impact of running fuel-powered machinery. The quiet operation of the Stirling is also a huge benefit, especially given that our ground is situated near residential properties. The noise reduction has made a noticeable difference allowing us to maintain the ground without disturbing the local community.
The cartridge system on the Stirling was another major selling point. While I had experience changing cartridges on the C24 it was a relatively straightforward process though not quite as simple as the system on the Stirling. The ease of swapping cartridges on the Stirling has saved us time and effort, making maintenance much more efficient. Additionally, the Height of Cut (HoC) dial is fantastic—especially when it comes to precise control over the depth of cultivation for scarifying and other key tasks. This added functionality allows us to fine-tune the machine to our exact specifications, ensuring we get the best possible results.
With the combination of the Stirling 51 and potentially a new C34, we’re excited about the future of our club’s grounds. We want it to be a place every local cricketer wants to come and play at. These machines are not just about efficiency and performance, but about supporting our ongoing efforts to improve the quality of our pitch and outfield while remaining environmentally conscious and reducing our workload.''
(Josh Baker, Briton Ferry Cricket Club, Stirling Sport)
''Worcester College is passionate about sustainability, and it’s something we’re actively driving forward in our gardens and grounds team. We already have a C34 and we’ve just purchased the fantastic Uplift which ticks the sustainability box due to its battery power. It’s also a great tool for the users as our team no longer needs to work with a combustion engine. One of the standout features is how quiet the machine is which is crucial for us, especially in a setting where noise can affect students studying and lectures taking place. This machine allows us to do our work without disturbing them. With the rising petrol costs battery power is also a smart move financially, as charging this machine costs just a few pence compared to rising fuel prices. The lawn in the quadrangle is a significant feature for us and we put a lot of effort into making it look great for the college community and visitors. The Uplift is perfect for this as it’s a heavyweight machine that leaves strong stripes but it’s also easy to use and well-balanced. The team enjoys using it because of its even weight distribution and simple features. We especially love the height adjustment mechanism at the front—it's incredibly easy to use, precise, and makes adjusting the cut height a breeze. Another reason we chose the Uplift is for sports pitch preparation. Our pitches are surrounded by trees which means a lot of leaf fall in the autumn, and the Uplift does an excellent job at collecting leaves and debris after matches''
(Simon Bagnall, Head of Gardens and Grounds for Worcester College in Oxford)
''We chose the C34 because it’s perfect for our needs-We’ve got several senior and junior teams, with a game almost every day. . The cartridge system is easy to change, and in just two to three minutes, we’re off again. The seat is ideal for cutting the outfield- saving my legs. We’re currently using the turf rake but the verticutter and rake will be used weekly. The square’s improved massively with regular raking and verti-cutting. The C34 has helped us remove moss from the square which has been a struggle for the past two years using just a hand rake. With the Allett I’m able to get the work done three times faster! ''
(Dave Ferns, groundsman at Ashcombe Park Cricket Club, C34 Petrol)
''I’ve been the groundskeeper at a private estate in York for three years now. It wasn’t something I trained for; I kind of fell into the role during the beginning of Covid as a temporary measure and never really looked back. We have about three or four acres of lawn to cut here and the stripes are quite prominent, which the owner loves. Swapping over the cartridges to use the brush machine is really easy and only takes a matter of seconds which is great when you’re trying to get through a large lawn. We use a turf rake probably once every two weeks, mainly to collect leaves—there are a lot of trees around here constantly dropping twigs and leaves—and it also helps to dig up the thatch and give the lawn a bit of relief. When we were looking at lawn mowers, battery power seemed to be the most sustainable option. What I’ve found is that when using other petrol-powered machinery, there’s a lot of vibration, which you don’t get with this machine''
( Tony, Private Estate in York, C34E)
''We’ve been using the Allett Buffalo for cutting our square which spans 15 tracks from end to end. It does a quick job and leaves a fantastic finish even when it's raining or spitting—weather doesn’t affect the result. It's really reliable and easy to adjust the height of cut, making it an excellent tool for our needs ''
(John Nunan, Milford CC, Allett Buffalo)
As Head of Gardens and Grounds at Saint Peter's School in York, I’ve been using Allett machines for years, and I find they do exactly what they promise. The Allett Shaver is perfect for our cricket wickets; it's simple, effective, and great value for money. It’s straightforward to fix if something goes wrong, with no complicated mechanisms or electric clutches. The no-tool height adjustment is crucial for our cricket prep, allowing us to adjust the cut height easily while working on the square. Overall, the Allett Shaver is a reliable, all-around machine that helps us maintain the pitches to a high standard and meet the needs of our three schools''
(Mark Hillaby, St Peters School in York, Allett Shaver)
As the Grounds Manager at Cardiff City Football Club, I’ve found the Allett battery-powered machines to be invaluable. The low noise, low emissions, and lack of hand vibration make post-match clean-ups much more efficient. We use the C34E battery machines for the pre match preparations and general cutting throughout the week and the Allett Uplift battery machines are perfect for cleaning up after matches or working behind the uni rake. They’re also great for giving the pitch a final refresh when needed. The half speed button makes controlled turns at the end of the pitch much easier. The quiet operation is a huge advantage as it allows us to get straight onto the pitch without delay after games all while supporting sustainability in football.
Cardiff City- Liam James, Grounds Manager, C34Es and Uplift86Es
"I've had my eye on the Allett C34 for quite some time, even when I was using an older Toro machine and I absolutely love it. The versatility with the interchangeable cassettes is a huge advantage— I have a brush cassette to tidy up the pitches and a verticut cassette to remove old grass and prepare for seeding. The cylinder cut is fantastic and compared to a big ride-on mower, I feel much more in tune with the grass. I can sense divots and imperfections as I mow making it easier to maintain a high-quality playing surface. The RM34 (now Uplift86) is also a brilliant machine, perfect for clearing debris after matches and tournaments. It cuts through stalkier grass, improves presentation and delivers great striping. Both machines have made a massive difference to the maintenance of our pitches and they’re a pleasure to use."
(Mohamed Robson, Spencer Community Trust, C34 and RM34 rotary)
"At Hull City, we've made the switch from petrol to battery-powered mowers to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly, a move supported by both the club and the EFL. We currently have the Allett C34E and Allett Uplift 86E mowers from Ripon Groundcare and the benefits have been clear from the start. With reduced fuel and noise pollution, we can now get straight onto the pitch after a game without disrupting interviews or coaching sessions. The improved operator welfare, with less vibration and noise makes a big difference too. The C34E gives us a great presentation before games and the interchangeable cartridges allow us to perform different processes efficiently. The Uplift86E acts as our ‘hoover,’ collecting debris and brushing the sward back open to prepare for the next match. After testing various options Allett was my preferred choice and after extensive demos the club agreed—it was the right decision. We’re all happy with the move to Allett’s electric range and the positive impact it has on both the pitch and the environment."
(Aaron Tong, Head Groundsman Hull City- C34E's and Uplift 86E's)
"At Knypersley Cricket Club, maintaining high-quality playing surfaces is essential, especially as we host county games and need to improve our facilities continuously. We chose the Allett C24 because it provides the versatility we need at a great price. Our groundsman, Dave Baker, has always been a fan of the Allett Shaver, and the C24 has been an excellent addition. The interchangeable cartridge system is a massive asset, allowing us to verticut and enhance the surface quality, with the option to add more cassettes in the future. This investment, made possible through incredible community support, has been a game-changer for the club, ensuring we can keep our ground in top condition for years to come."
Allan Smith, Knypersley Cricket Club, C20 and Shaver
''I had an old black and decker electric spring de-thatcher for many years and it served me well over the years but it came to the end of its working life. I then pondered on whether to buy a replacement or spend out on an Allett cartridge to fit my liberty lawnmower, it cost me more money than what I would have spent on a dedicated machine but I thought it made sense to buy the cartridge which could also double up on saving space in my garage. Buying from Allett direct saved me money and the delivery was with me within a couple of days from ordering. I have already started using the new cartridge and I’m very pleased with the results it’s a quality item and and should last me years. If you are thinking of buying a new dethatcher look no further I believe it’s a great addition to anyone owning an Allett mower that takes these cartridges''

We knew we had purchased a quality, well designed product from the moment the shipment arrived. Unpacking, assembling and putting it to use took all of 10 minutes. Having used a rotary mower for many years we were delighted that after just one cut the lawn is looking better than it ever has. Even though the lawn is not perfectly flat, cutting the grass was simple and easy. We are confident that the results will get even better as summer progresses. We are pleased we reserved and bought an Allett Classic 17L

‘I just want to say how brilliant my new Liberty 43 is and how easy it is to use.
I have never seen a lawnmower cut grass so cleanly and consistently across the cylinder. Clearly I made the right choice - and it’s British. 🇬🇧

''This is my second Allett mower and I am absolutely overwhelmed with your products. The quality and workmanship is second to none. Keep up the good work''
Nikolas H.W. Konietzko in Canada
The Stirling 51 in my opinion is the best lawn mower I have ever owned. To call it just a lawn mower does not do it justice. The Stirling 51 is an engineered marvel. The fit and finish is like a Ferrari. When using the machine I feel totally connected to the lawn. It runs so smooth and quiet, I swear you can hear it cutting every blade of grass.
For anyone thinking of buying a reel mower, all I can say is Allett is one of the best investments I have made in my entire life.
Allett is simply the best.
Nikolas H.W. Konietzko in Canada
After a long debate, this is my first cylinder mower and wow! Everything about it is exceptional! Build quality is outstanding, weight distribution is perfect! Certainly doesn't feel like a 50+kg mower 😎 keep up the good work folks

''I purchased the Allett Stirling a couple of months ago. I have had many mowers over the past twenty years mostly Toro or John Deere but the Stirling is by far the best mower I have owned.
I have most of the attachments and it makes such a difference, if you need a mower try the Stirling, you cannot beat it''

''I have always been keen on having a nice lawn and has a cylinder mower in the past. But ended up with a rotary mower for many years. But the Twitter (X) lawn family made me want to improve my lawn and improve stripes. I saw lots of great photos with people using Allett mowers. So despite having only purchase a new rotary mower last year with a roller I decided to upgrade to a cylinder mower and chose Allett, the obvious choice. It arrived quickly, the video emailed helped with the set up, the customer service is second to none. The support and advice given is useful and friendly, we all want the same result so I’m now part of the Allett family and couldn’t be happier. Result are stunning. Thank you''

''We've been using Allett Mowers and Equipment for all our tournaments from the T20 Women's World Cup, DP World ILT20 and now the ICC Champions Trophy here in the UAE.

Steve Tanner, Wokingham, UK

Sheila McAllen, Kent, UK
