WIGAN ARE THE RL GROUNDS WARRIORS
Team at DW stadium win the Rugby League Award

Wigan Warriors Ground Team

IN last week's Turf Pro Briefing, we noted the winners of the Best Rugby League Grounds Team as Worcester Warriors.

It was in fact the Wigan Warriors Grounds Team of Ian Forshaw, Robert Woods, Tony Jump and David Grundy who were been named Rugby League Grounds Team of the Year at the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) annual Industry Awards.

The grounds team of Martin Knight and Stuart Lambert who look after the Worcester Warriors stadium at Sixfields did win the Best Rugby Union Grounds Team Award.

Our apologies to Ian Forshaw.

Hosting both football and rugby games, as well as training sessions and friendly fixtures, a high the standard of pitch care is attained at the DW Stadium by the four-strong groundscare team. With 16 years' experience, head groundsman Ian Forshaw said he is committed to sharing his knowledge in the hope of helping others - and that includes keeping a watchful eye on the weather to ensure the pitch is ready and playable every time.
