Village cricket clubs will introduce technology that lets them produce television-style broadcasts of matches to revive the fortunes of the amateur game.
No longer will golden ducks and dropped catches be forgotten by the end of the afternoon as supporters will able to watch live matches and see highlight reels.
The video-production kit, made by Frogbox, an Australian company, is being given to clubs this weekend by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The package, which usually costs £1,300 but is available at a reduced price through the ECB, includes a camera, a
4-metre mast to mount it on and software to enable livestreaming.
