LONDON STADIUM HEAD GROUNDSMAN QUITS
Will depart mid-September

Greg Bolton
Greg Bolton, Head Groundsman of the London Stadium has confirmed on social media that he is leaving his positon after 18 months in the post.

He posted on Twitter last week, "Just to confirm, I will be leaving my role as Head Groundsman at London Stadium mid September. Also like to confirm it was 100% my decision."

That will put his depature just after West Ham's first home game of the new season at the London Stadium against Huddersfield on September 9th.

West Ham news website Claret & Hugh say that Greg spent twelve years at Reading FC after joining the grounds staff from school. He worked his way up to head groundsman before joining Fulham in 2014.  He was appointed Head Groundsman of the London Stadium in March last year.

The £1m Desso Grassmaster pitch has recently been covered up for a run of three music concerts in June. It will now be uncovered and converted to Athletics mode for the Anniversary Games next weekend, then the World Paralympic Games followed by the 2017 World Athletics Championships in August.
