HYUNDAI POWER EQUIPMENT LAUNCHES IN UK
Mark Osborne to head up sales & marketing

Roland Llewellin, managing director of Genpower Ltd (right), welcomes Mark Osborne to his new position as head of sales and marketing for Hyundai Power Equipment.

An extensive range of Hyundai-branded power products suitable for garden, estate and commercial applications will be making its debut at September's IOG Saltex Show.

The event will mark the formal UK launch of Hyundai Power Equipment, which encompasses a growing portfolio of high-quality Hyundai power products distributed exclusively in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Genpower, based at Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire.

Newly-appointed as head of sales and marketing for Hyundai Power Equipment is Mark Osborne, who brings to the position more than 30 years' experience within the UK and European garden machinery and power products industry.

Mark's initial task is to extend Genpower's existing network of Hyundai Power Equipment dealers across the UK and Ireland, appointing firms capable of providing domestic and professional customers with the highest possible levels of pre- and after-sales service in support of the newly-extended Hyundai Power Equipment line-up.

To date, a limited number of specialist Hyundai Power Equipment dealers has been responsible for the sale and support of Hyundai commercial petrol- and diesel-engined generators, leisure inverter generators, air compressors and water pumps. This arrangement follows the signing in 2009 of a sole distribution agreement for the UK and Ireland between South Korean corporation, Hyundai, and Genpower Ltd, the latter founded in 2006 by current managing director, Roland Llewellin.

Since then, Genpower has grown into one of the UK's leading distributors of portable, mobile and fixed power equipment aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at industrial, leisure and hire applications.

These applications are now set to be seriously augmented by a new wave of domestic and professional end-users following Genpower's decision to extend its Hyundai Power Equipment portfolio with the addition of machines designed for a variety of garden, estate and open space maintenance duties.

Among the new Hyundai-branded products due to be unveiled by Hyundai Power Equipment on Stand A32 at IOG Saltex are push- and self-propelled rotary lawnmowers, wheeled nylon-line trimmers, brush cutters, multi-tools, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, back-pack blowers, a hand-held blower-vacuum and high performance pressure washers.

All of the new machines will be available throughout the UK and Ireland within an extended Hyundai Power Equipment product portfolio which will include also the Hyundai generators, water pumps and compressors currently distributed by Genpower Ltd.

"The move into the wider garden, estate and professional grounds maintenance sector is an exciting and important step for Genpower and for Hyundai Power Equipment in the United Kingdom and Ireland," commented managing director, Roland Llewellin. "We are delighted to have secured the knowledge, experience and commitment of Mark Osborne to help us move our expansion plans forward. Mark's understanding of the industry is second to none and this will be of immense help in building a sound, profitable and growing customer base.

"Mark, together with our new and existing Hyundai Power Equipment dealers, will receive all necessary support in achieving these goals, both from myself and from Genpower's experienced and skilled team at our Milford Haven base."
