SUMO OPEN DAYS
Company opens up factory to visitors

Sumo’s 2012 Open Days, held at their Melbourne Factory in Yorkshire last week gave visitors a first view of the company’s all-new DTS (deep tillage seeder), the Quatro and Strake machines.

“This was be the fourth year we have opened our factory to show the latest additions to the Sumo range and our current machines,” says Shaun Wealleans, Sumo’s Managing Director. “The Open Days also gave the 500 plus visitors a chance to see our Trumpf Laser Cutters and Robot Welders in action - as well as the current range of Sumo machinery on display in our 100,000 sq ft. factory.”

The DTS is a new addition to the drill line up of the existing Versaplus and Unidrill. It is a one pass ‘strip till’ tine drill, designed to work straight into previous crop residues and cover crops, whilst the new Strake will complement Sumo’s drill line up. A straw rake, designed to be slightly more aggressive than most others on the market, to achieve a more even spread and greater disturbance.

The cultivation equipment line up sees the return of the Quatro, totally redesigned to be stronger, more adjustable and power efficient.
