BTME HARROGATE, Preview of BIGGA turfcare show ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES: What's new? December / January issue of Turf Pro/Service Dealer is being published w/c 17 December
The preliminary results from a survey published by a leading research agency operating in the exhibition field suggests that visitors to shows and exhibitions want more than is presently offered to them.
With budgets being cut, a decreasing work-force, the weather an ever-present factor and higher and higher performance expectations, those responsible for managing open spaces are seeking insight and innovative solutions.
The survey, carried out by Zing Insights amongst local authorities and contractors revealed that live demonstrations (70%) were the most important, followed by the ability to network (65%) and contribute to the ongoing debate on best-practice through what the agency describes as ‘thought leadership’ “We are living a different era to when shows and exhibitions would consist of rows upon rows of static exhibits and people poured through the door"
"Today, with limited time, visitors want answers to their most pressing need - fundementaly how to do more with less. Less money, less people, less time” says a spokesperson for Zing Insights.
The survey also revealed that buying patterns had changed drastically over the past few years, with purchases being made virtually throughout the year with only December being a ‘quiet month’ “All this points events focussing on open space management, possibly regional, featuring demonstrations and debate on how to deliver results with decreasing budgets and man-power”
