SCAM MOWER SITE - UPDATE Complaints against RideMow site
Last week we reported on a direct selling website trading as RideMow which was described as a complete sham, unlawful and 'criminal' by reviewers.
Thank you to the many people who contacted us with further information, in particular to GGP's Adam Godfrey who first noticed the site back in November which seemed to try and replicate the Mountfield Online site.
He says, "This has been reported by myself to Action Fraud over four months ago as well as Google. I have taken a call from a police officer investigating the site but nothing seems to have happened. Frustratingly, Google continue to run RideMow's pay per click advertisements despite being told on numerous occasions that it is a fraudulent website.
"So much for Google and their supposed 'Do no evil' ethos. They are happy to continue taking the money from a known fraudulent operation and facilitating the crime happening. If it wasn't for Google, nobody would be finding this site.
"It is clear that this is a complete scam as no product has yet appeared, and it is putting consumers at risk from what appears to be a credible sales website."
Google have removed the site twice, but it has since re-appeared under a different guise. Ridemow asks the unsuspecting purchaser to pay by bank transfer - a totally unprotected payment method.
To date, there has been no information on the people behind the RideMow site which offers 'Briggs & Stratton Ranger' ride-on tractors at very low prices. The contact address, now given as an address in Brighton was recently changed from an office based in Southampton.
