APP LAUNCHED BY AEA & BAGMA
Outdoor Power Equipment Price Guide
The AEA (Agricultural Engineers Association) and BAGMA (British Agricultural and Garden Machinery Association) are pleased to announce the launch of the much anticipated Outdoor Power Equipment electronic price guide.
Available as an app on android and apple platforms, the electronic price guide is a combined version of the previous hard copy price guides, printed and independently published by each of the organisations up to the end of last year.
In a new joint venture, both trade associations, representing the suppliers and dealership network of the outdoor power, turf-care, garden and forestry equipment sectors, have combined forces to provide a concurrent pricing guide for industry. Entry in the guide is free of charge at a basic entry level with chargeable options for enhanced entries.
The app itself will be sold in blocks of three seats at £75 per block for an annual subscription; it will be device specific and password protected. Offering complete functionality to search across all brands for current retail price lists, the guide will enable total ease of access to anyone out on the road or covering an extensive customer base. Administration access for contributors will allow each contributing company to update their own prices on-line on a continual basis and updates of the guide will be issued three times per year.
Keith Christian, Director of BAGMA commented, "The use of mobile devices today makes the introduction of an electronic OPE Price Guide a necessity for our very mobile industry. This will bring a raft of up-to-date information to the desks and pockets of all in industry who are dealing with the buying and selling of outdoor power equipment. A great initiative that will benefit many.”
Ruth Bailey, CEO of the AEA said of the project, “It’s a pleasure to have worked with BAGMA on this initiative. Whilst the Associations still have differing aims and look after differing member requirements, it is still vital to recognise that there are synergies and areas of collaboration where our organisations can move forward together in meeting the needs of the respective sectors we serve. Ultimately we must all recognise the requirements of similar customer bases and the same end-users.”
Ruth went on to say, “A firm favourite and widely used in its hard copy formats, it is hoped that this new app will be accepted by all as the “go-to tool” for anyone needing to search and reference up-to-date prices within the outdoor power equipment industry.”
