BEN BURGESS
Garden Equipment Service Manager



We require a highly motivated individual to lead our busy garden equipment workshop in Norwich. The successful candidate will have experience with modern grounds care machinery and knowledge of the John Deere brand would be an advantage. With a team of technicians in the workshop, excellent people management and communication skills are fundamental to this role.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of ten technicians.
  • Scheduling technician workload to ensure customer expectations are met and surpassed.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all customers whether external or internal in respect of machine repair and maintenance.
  • Arrange and schedule the delivery and collection of equipment.
  • Process and invoice all retail, internal and warranty job cards.

Key skills & qualifications include:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in a garden equipment service department, ideally with a familiarity with John Deere products.
  • Experience in a retail environment solving issues and providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Strong communication, management and motivational skills relating to a team of technicians.
  • The ability to maintain the discipline and organisation of the service department, ensuring it is clean, tidy and safe.
  • The ability to use standard computer applications and internet functions.
  • A solid understanding of the pivotal role a service department plays within a garden equipment dealership.
