ECOLOGY FOCUS AT BIGGA
Newly created Sustainability Executive role

James Hutchinson

BIGGA have welcomed to their team James Hutchinson who has accepted the newly created role of Sustainability Executive.

James was previously Environmental Officer at St Andrews. Prior to that he was Ecology Manager at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lytham, Lancashire.

This new role will involve James working closely with the Golf Environment Organisation and other industry bodies to uncover and promote examples of good sustainability practice on golf courses among the BIGGA membership, and demonstrate their members’ commitment to sustainability.

James will also have an influence on BIGGA's Learning & Development activity which will have an increased focus on this topical issue.

It is intended that BIGGA will offer a range of environmental and sustainability advisory services to its members and their golf clubs, as an acknowledged expert in his field with a successful track record in providing environmental plans BIGGA say James is an outstanding candidate to drive this activity forward.

James will be based remotely but will attend BIGGA House on a regular basis. He will be joining the rest of the BIGGA House team and the Regional Administrators at BTME 2016 and will be happy to chat to members and answer any questions.

James said: “To say I am delighted to be joining BIGGA who I feel are a proactive and forward thinking association would be an understatement. I have been a member since 1989 and to now be a part of the team makes me feel immensely proud! I’m looking forward to meeting BIGGA’s members whilst helping with any environmental issues they may have – see you all at BTME!”
