EIGCA INVITING APPLICANTS
For next intake on Golf Course Design qualification

The EIGCA (European Institute of Golf Course Architects) Vocational Qualification in Golf Course Design is inviting applicants for its next intake in Spring 2016.

The aim of the vocational course, which started in 2011, is to aid the development of students through a mixture of online learning, bi-annual workshops and assignments.

It is an important role of the EIGCA to promote and maintain high standards of golf course design and professional expertise. By offering a qualification in golf course architecture the EIGCA is ensuring that potential new golf course architects are properly trained.

The EIGCA Vocational Qualification in Golf Course Design is currently open to both prospective designers who are just getting into the industry and have already found employment in an EIGCA member’s practice and others interested in the industry who can attach themselves to a member (Student Attachment Programme). The aim of the vocational course is to aid their development through a mixture of online learning, bi-annual workshops and assignments, while also receiving on-the-job training from their mentor.

The deadline for applications is mid October 2015 (final date to be confirmed) by which time SAP applicants need to have found an attachment. By opening up applications now it offers potential students approximately four months to approach members to secure an attachment.

The latest intake of students on this programme have now completed Part 1 of the course and the Education Board of the EIGCA is pleased to announce a successful outcome for the 4 students who took part.
