DATES SET FOR BOWLS SEMINARS
Venues across Scotland in May

Dennis and SISIS have announced that they will again be teaming up with Bowls Scotland to deliver a number of informative seminars, all designed to help club greenkeepers and volunteers maintain their bowling greens.

Last year’s series of seminars brought together over two hundred bowls enthusiasts at a number of venues across Scotland and the popular events are set to be well-attended yet again.

Refreshments will be available upon arrival before Robert Christie, Director of Development for Bowls Scotland, begins with a warm welcome outlining the aims and strategy of the seminar. There will then be a great opportunity to learn more about obtaining grant and funding support for your bowls club.

Scott McNeil from Henderson Grass Machinery will then take to the stage to present a real-life case study of how his bowling club was able to improve the quality of its green and explain the methods they used to achieve it.

A complimentary lunch will signal the halfway point before delegates head outside to witness an on-green demonstration. This demonstration not only provides a perfect opportunity to see some of the sport’s latest turf maintenance equipment in action but will also offer guidance in the way you prepare greens and provide delegates with advice on how to get the very best out of their equipment.

The last seminar of the day will see Greentech Sportsturf’s Neil Mitchell offering his expertise on how to get the best value and best results from inputs such as fertilisers, fungicides, pesticides and grass seed.

To conclude each of the seminars, an open question and answer session will take place - presenting all delegates with the opportunity to ask any pressing questions relating to their own situations.

The dates and venues for the seminars are:

  • 4th May - Fraser Park Bowling Club, Inverness, IV2 3LJ
  • 5th May - Perth Bowling Club, Perth, PH1 5HS
  • 10th May - Priorscroft Bowling Club, Paisley, PA1 1JY
  • 11th May - Lockerbie Bowling Club, Lockerbie, DG11 2AR
  • 12th May - Gala Bowling Club, Galashiels, TD1 3JS

All the seminars start with registration at 9am. To register for the free seminars, contact Roger Moore on 01332 824777 or email roger.moore@dennisuk.com
