Finalised and ready for launch in 2016 (with selected customers), Fleet Services can help increase coordination and productivity, so landscaping businesses can fully achieve their aims and potential.


Base station

Wireless sensors fitted to each of your outdoor machines can give you statistics such as engine run-time, operator ID's, rpm distribution and machine temperature. You can obtain information regarding vibration levels your team are exposed to, servicing dates/times and even suggestions on how to optimise your operations, to suit your business. Using Cloud-based technology, uploaded onto the Cloud via the Base Station, which transmits the data, that can be then accessed by via your computer.


Different formats

The Husqvarna Fleet Services' package consists of; a Wireless Sensor for each machine, a Base Station to transmit data to the cloud and an optional Operator Card (OpTag). The package can be used on both Petrol & Battery machines, so your entire fleet is covered

Data on each machines' usage and operator status is sorted into four main categories, that are easily accessible:

1. Workday Log
Displays data that calculates how productive your landscaping operations are. Visual information on how often and effectively your fleet machines are used is displayed here. This data is particularly useful when expansion of your fleet is being considered.

2. Interactive Maintenance System
Helps keep track of all your machines and alerts both the Fleet Manager and the nearest Husqvarna dealer before servicing is due. A dedicated maintenance program will be put in place for each individual machine, leading to improved up-time and prolonged machine lifespan.

3. Machine Handling
Allows managers and operators to understand whether the individual products in the fleet are being effectively used. Productivity can be increased using this information, along with a reduction in fuel consumption.

4. Vibration Reports
Focuses on machine operators and gives an indication of the vibration levels that users have been exposed to; all referenced against applicable EU standards. Decision can be made regarding worker safety and how to improve productivity within safe vibration boundaries.


Fitted sensor

Workshop/Operator manuals, parts lists, machine handling films and other tutorials can be found in the online library. Another feature tailored to improving your landscaping teams' product knowledge and usage.

Operators can also access data relevant to them via the mobile app. Whilst they are in the field, they can check statistics regarding their own work and also customer details, product information and the ability to communicate new business leads directly to their fleet manager.

To illustrate how the Cloud works, here's a quick example; Imagine the wireless sensor is mounted to a Husqvarna Front Mower. When the machine is in need of a service (for example, in 25 hours usage time) a message will be sent to yourself and your preferred Husqvarna dealer. This gives them a notification, in advance, if some parts need to be ordered, or if they need to book time for a machine service. In effect, it gives both parties a 'heads-up- so you can not only plan ahead, but also organise your maintenance regime to efficiently accommodate any off-road time.

With Husqvarna Fleet Service, the need to estimate how well your fleet is performing is significantly minimised. As margins within the landscaping industry become even more refined, your business needs a more sophisticated way of measuring operations. "Cloud-based Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions have made it possible for Husqvarna to develop a system that allows modern landscaping businesses to go from estimates to facts" states Håkan Wahlgren; Project Manager at Husqvarna Group.

Impressions of the technology within the industry have been positive. Chris Beamer, Regional Manager for ISS Facility Services Landscaping, has given us his opinions; "Prior to the system, we didn't have a tangible measurement in terms of machinery use per day." ISS Facility Services Landscaping, in conjunction with Husqvarna UK, then implemented Fleet Services into their machines; "Machinery that may have been underutilised or where product lifespan can be extended could be identified." The city of Antwerp attributed Husqvarna Fleet Services as a major factor in their decision to sign a four-year deal with Husqvarna as their exclusive supplier of outdoor power equipment. Representatives cited an overreaching view of their fleet that offered greater control and insight into product utilisation, as specific reasons for their decision.
