At the GCMA Awards
High Post Golf Club in Salisbury, Wiltshire won the Team of the Year award at the recent Golf Club Manager's Association Conference which took place at St George’s Park.
Manager Peter Hickling, head professional Tony Isaacs and greenkeeper James Friend were commended for their "outstanding work" over the last 12 months. The decision was made following rigorous assessments at Fulford Golf Club, York and onsite visits from the judging panel.
Jame Friend and his greenkeeping team were recognised for having improved the quality and condition of the golf course in the past two years.
The Salisbury Journal quoted, Bob Williams, GCMA CEO, saying, "The team at High Post are fitting first winners as they demonstrated a superb working relationship that is helping to drive the club to new heights.”
The reward for the trio, who pipped Royal Cromer Golf Club in to second place in the category, is a trip to the Open Championship.
