WATER CONSERVATION E-LEARNING COURSE
Industry bodies team up

This course is specifically tailored for professionals in the design, landscaping, horticultural and grounds maintenance sectors and is the result of water companies working in partnership with the the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG), the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) and the Turfgrass Growers Association (TGA).

The course provides professionals with a better understanding of efficient and responsible use of water in planning, constructing, establishing and maintaining gardens, grounds and landscapes.

Achieving the Certificate in Water Conservation demonstrates a clear commitment to the training of staff and caring for the water environment.  This can boost your credibility and reputation, and helps to create a better undetstanding of more sustainable, cost effective and environmentally sensitive uses of water in gardens, parks, sports grounds and other amenity areas.

This course has the support of all the water companies in the East and South East of England, i.e. Affinity Water, Anglian Water, South East Water, Southern Water, Sutton and East Surrey Water, Thames Water together with Waterwise and Water UK. The East and South East of England have been classified as areas of severe water stress, hence why it is so important for water companies to encourage their domestic and businesses customers to think differently about how they use water.

The hour-long course comprises four modules focusing on planning, constructing, establishing and maintaining gardens, grounds and landscapes. It costs just £10 plus VAT, reflecting the administration, registration and certification process.

It can be accessed and ordered online by visiting the Academy – ‘Learning choices’ pages on  www.hta.org.uk
