FATAL SPRAYING VEHICLE INCIDENT
At Celtic Manor Resort
A 20 year old Complete Weed Control employee was killed at the Celtic Manor resort on Tuesday last week (March 3rd) in an incident involving a spraying vehicle.
A statement from Complete Weed Control said, “It is with great regret that we can confirm one of our operatives, Ollie Floyd, yesterday died at the Celtic Manor resort following an incident which saw a spraying vehicle roll into a lake on the Twenty Ten Course."The incident is clearly subject to an on-going investigation which Complete Weed Control and Celtic Manor are co-operating with fully. "Our thoughts are with the family at this extremely sad and very difficult time. "A further statement will be issued in due course.” News reports stated that Ollie Floyd from Ross-on-Wye, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, where he died. The Daily Mail reported he was in the vehicle with his father at the time, who was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
Mr Floyd's family thanked friends and ground staff at the Celtic Manor Resort for their "overwhelming support". On Facebook, Ross-on-Wye Rugby Club paid tribute to "a great friend and clubman", saying "Always a legend never will be forgotten".
