Fascinating Radio 4 interview
Neil Stubley, head groundsman at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, gave a fascinating interview to Radio 4 recently discussing the scientific research which has gone into creating the grass surfaces at the Championships this year.
He spoke about the efforts which he and his team, along with specialists from the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI), have undertaken to find the right type of grass which can hold up to the very specific stresses which come from tennis..
Neil told the Radio 4 In Four programme, "I don't allow us to fail.".
