GROUNDS MAINTENANCE MANAGER / OPERATIVE
Iver Parish Council

Iver Parish serves a population of approximately 11,000 people, is situated within South Buckinghamshire and includes the villages of Iver, Iver Heath and Richings Park. The Parish is responsible for two large recreation grounds (with a number of football pitches), two allotment sites, and a number of other areas/nature reserves. Currently, the grounds maintenance team consists of two people.

Following a thorough assessment of the required annual workload, it has become apparent that a third member of the team is needed. However, this is not just an additional (and hands on) team member! A person is sought who is experienced in work scheduling/task allocation with the ability to adequately manage long serving experienced staff along with occasional outside contractors. The successful applicant will be required to further assess current work schedules/time allocations, and rationalise all systems to maximise on total team output.

This is a full time role of 37 hours per week, with the occasional requirement for weekend working when time off in lieu will be given. Holiday allocation is 21 days (25 after five years' service). The role has access (if required) to the local government pension scheme. Salary is by negotiation with the appointing committee. A full driving licence is essential.

Applications are invited by a covering letter and CV. It is EXPECTED that applications will contain FULL DETAILS of RELEVANT experience and qualifications together with the names/contact details of two persons who can vouch for both experience and competence in the required areas. Details of BOTH current and expected remuneration should be included within the covering letter. Please consider your commuting distance before applying.

Further details can be found on the council's website www.iverparishcouncil.gov.uk

Applications should be made to the: Clerk at the Council Offices, 63 Chequers Orchard, Iver, Bucks SL0 9NJ.
