GOLF-FOCUSSED SALTEX SEMINARS
To be presented by BIGGA
The education sessions being presented by the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) at this year’s SALTEX (Sports, Amenities, Landscaping Trade Exhibition) will complement the myriad of golf course maintenance products on view to create an event that will appeal to greenkeepers at courses of every size and type, say the organisers.
Last year's BIGGA education sessions were very popular at SALTEX
Being staged on Wednesday September 3 at Windsor Racecourse, the free-to-attend seminars will focus on integrated turf management and the benefits of social media, as well as present an interesting insight into the impact that the Wimbledon tennis Championships has on a neighbouring golf course. The schedule starts with David Langheim MG, course manager at Wimbledon Park Golf Club. His ‘Wimbledon fortnight: before, during and after’ session will highlight how the club is each year affected by the Wimbledon tournament. Daniel Lightfoot MG, course manager at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club and Matthew Nutter, course manager at East Berkshire Golf Club, will then take to the stage to present an interesting look into the use of social media. Attendees at their ‘#socialsaltex’ seminar will discover whether social media makes the grass grow better. The BIGGA programme completes with the presentation ‘Integrated Turf Management in Action’ by Everris’ Henry Bechelet, technical sales manager - turf and amenity. Henry proposes to show the real benefits of taking an integrated approach to turf management. BIGGA CPD credits - 1 CPD credit is available for each seminar. A CPD code will be available at the end of each seminar.
