COLIN & ARCHIE WIN WITH KUBOTA
Champions of #MyKubota competition

Colin Prentice and his dog Archie have beaten hundreds of other social media users to become the winner of Kubota UK’s #MyKubota 2016 competition.

The winning entry

Colin uploaded a photo demonstrating ‘a day in the life of his Kubota’ on his farm and was selected by a judging panel of experts as one of the top five entries. The finalists were then whittled down by a competitive public vote and Colin achieved hundreds of nominations due to his creative snap.

Colin can now reap his rewards with £500 worth of Virgin Experience Days vouchers from Kubota.

Colin and his 6-year-old Jack Russell Terrier Archie, from Aberdeen, have been using a 1986 B7100D compact tractor for two years for every day tasks such as mowing, ploughing and trailer pulling on the farm.

He commented: “I happened to see the competition on Facebook and thought, why not? I was chuffed to receive the beanie hat for being one of the first 50 entries and I couldn't believe it when I received the notification that I was shortlisted in the second round and then when I went on to win it. It was easy to get the snap of Archie with the machine because he loves to be driven around by the tractor on the farm. Any excuse not use his legs!"

Colin added: “Since winning the competition, I’ve been deciding what to do with the vouchers and have even talked about putting them towards a skydiving experience, where I’d jump out of a plane in my Kubota boilersuit! But I think it’s most likely that I’ll settle on a treat of a weekend away for myself and my wife, who is seven months pregnant."

2016 is the second year of the #MyKubota campaign, where users are asked to upload their funniest, most scenic or creative photos that depict how the machinery is used on a day-to-day basis. The campaign received 175 photo entries, nearly double the 95 entries in 2015, with this year being the first to introduce a voting aspect for the public to decide which finalist they ‘like’ the most.

Dave Roberts, Kubota UK’s MD, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who entered the #MyKubota campaign this year, whether it was submitting photos or voting for your favourite finalist. It’s been fantastic to build such a strong gallery of machinery in use and reward loyal users in this way.

“The team at Kubota love the photo of Colin and Archie and think that the title of #MyKubota 2016 champion is well deserved!”
