Unsung hero award for Derek Walder
On Friday the Association of Events Organisers (AEO) presented Derek Walder with their Unsung Hero award at their annual ceremony at The Grosvenor in London.
Known to many as 'Mr Saltex', Derek works tirelessly as Exhibition Operations Manager at IOG SALTEX. The IOG immediately Tweeted their congratulations to Derek as soon as the award was presented, saying they were #proud.
The AEO Excellence Awards represent the best that the events industry has to offer, showcasing the achievements within the industry over the past 12 months. The illustrious event recognises and celebrates organisers’ achievements, standards of excellence from venues and service quality by suppliers and contractors throughout the industry. The glittering awards ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Carr this year and the afternoon featured a drinks reception followed by fine dining and entertainment.
In the Unsung Hero category, sponsored by Event magazine, Derek Walder was choosen ahead of candidates from such prestigious organisations as Earls Court & Olympia, the SECC and Closer Still Media.
