AUSTIN TO RUN THE AMAZON
Allett md taking on Jungle Ultra marathon
Having raised money by running the Sahara last year, Austin Jarrett, md of Allett Mowers, has this year set himself the task of running an ultra marathon through the Amazon jungle for charity.

Austin said, "This year I've set myself a new and tougher challenge. A 230km race across the Amazon Jungle in Peru.
"It's going to be hot, near 100% humidity, very wet and muddy. The other things that go towards making this an especially fun race are the 69 river crossings (and I can't swim - note to self, pack water wings!), big spiders, ants, Black Caiman, and hunting tribes.
"And of course, this is a fully self supporting race, so I have to carry everything I need for the week including food, medicals and my hammock."I pay all my own expenses for this challenge, so every penny kindly donated will go to the three great charities I'm supporting this year."

The charities Austin is running for are: - VSO - Instead of sending money or food, VSO fights poverty by working through volunteers to create lasting change
- The Eve Appeal - The only national UK charity dedicated to funding world-class research and raising awareness of all five gynaecological cancers.
- Oak Tree Farm Rural Project Limited - Providing a unique rural working environment where people with learning disabilities gain the skills, independence and confidence to take them towards an active role in society.
