Man of the Match for Saints groundsman!
Southampton FC groundsman Andrew Grey produced another stunning pitch this weekend, for the Saints first home game of the season against Everton.
Andrew has hit the national headlines before for his incredible creations, which often commonplace in other countries, are seldom seen in the English game. His one for a match against Man Utd a couple of seasons ago was particularly memorable with its concentric circles pattern.
This Saturday's effort though, earned him the remarkable headline in The Mirror of 'Southampton's groundsman puts in man-of-the-match performance with crazy pitch design'. Wonderful recognition for his design which featured diamonds all across the pitch, with horizontal lines breaking them into triangles.
It was just a shame for him that the team couldn't emulate his flair with them going down 0-3 to Everton in the day's early kick-off.
