CELTIC MANOR INQUEST OPENED
Ollie Floyd's funeral took place on Saturday
The funeral of Ollie Floyd, who died in an incident involving a spraying vehicle at Celtic Manor, took place at St John The Baptist Church, Upton Bishop on Saturday (March 14th).
The Gloucester Citizen quoted Rach Prew Allen, from Coleford, saying it was "beautiful send off for an amazing man" while Michelle Gardiner, from Ross on Wye, said everyone had "done him proud."
Tributes were also paid by Ollie's old rugby clubs at both Drybrook and Ross On Wye. A minute's applause was held before Ross On Wye's first team game last Saturday, followed by the release of hundreds of white and blue balloons.
Shocking the greenkeeping community, the fatal incident occurred on March 3rd, when the spraying vehicle which Mr Floyd and his father were working in for Complete Weed Control, rolled into the lake on the Twenty Ten course.
An inquest was opened in Newport on 10 March. It was then adjourned for two months to allow police and Health and Safety Executive investigations to continue.
