MO BACTER MAKES GLEE DEBUT
Attention for past Turf Pro award winner

Previous winner of a Turf Pro 'best lawncare product' award, MO BACTER, made its debut at GLEE recently with much attention from garden centre buyers.

The organic lawn fertiliser and moss eliminater - now stocked in more than 60 garden centres around the UK - is the leading product supplied by lawncare experts DJ TURFCARE of Surrey, the sole distributors in Britain.

Viano commercial director Steven De Winne, of the Belgium manufacturers, said: "GLEE is a great show and the DJ Turfcare team have pulled out all the stops after a great year in which sales have massively increased."

At GLEE were Viano stockists from Holland, Denmark and other European countries, taking note of the success that DJ Turfcare is having with Viano products.

Garden centres found MO BACTER flying off the shelves this year after the wettest winter on record and a warm spring - perfect conditions for moss development in lawns.

MO BACTER - in bright attractive packaging - is proving a best-seller in garden centres and through direct sales.

Customers love the fact that moss goes brown and disappears - without the need for raking. There is no black mess to contend with, common with traditional moss-killing products.

David Jenkins of DJ Turfcare at GLEE with MO BACTER

DJ Turfcare managing director David Jenkins says: "MO BACTER has proved one of our most successful lawncare products.

"We have had a great deal of repeat business from satisfied users - and press and TV coverage boosted new sales.

"Garden centres stocking MO BACTER have reported great success, especially as we had a wet winter - followed by a warm spring, which encouraged moss problems."

MO BACTER is an organic granular lawn fertiliser that destroys moss and eliminates debris by bacterial action, avoiding the need to rake - with no black matter to remove.

It has been featured on BBC TV's Beechgrove Garden in Scotland (now showing nationwide on BBC 2) where it has received much praise for success in trials on their moss-infested lawns.

The 7.5kilo bag will treat up to 75 square metres, while a 20 kilo bag treats up to 200 square metres.

This slow-release granular fertiliser not only eradicates moss but feeds grass and improves the soil. Scarifying after treatment is not necessary. Lawns are fed for 12 weeks with one application.

Moss dies as a result of excess potassium but leaves no black debris. The dead moss is then digested by the bacteria in MO BACTER (npk: 5-5-20). The product does not stain stonework, patios or paths.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has seen remarkable results in which two inches of moss at one cemetery in Oxfordshire was virtually eliminated in six months, with no need for scarifying to remove debris. And headstones were completely unmarked.

The product is harmless to animals and wildlife and will not damage border plants.

"This product is revolutionising the way moss is treated on grass near stonework," says David Jenkins.
