AND FINALLY . . .
Camper pitches up on bowling green

According to a report in the Daily Mail last week, a particularly arrogant or stupid camper had thought they had found the perfect place to pitch their tent in Torquay.

Beautifully mown grass, perfectly flat surface, excellent drainage and with a lovely view of the sea. The only problem being, it was in fact Victoria Bowling Green!

The Mail says the sleeping camper was disturbed from their slumber by a passing pensioner, Susie Colley, who promptely strode over to the tent , hit the side of it with her walking stick and told the incumbant to move on.

Whilst it could be argued that that may have been a slightly aggressive, if understandable, way to alert the camper to their mistake, any sympathy for what might have a been a genuine error, instantly disappears upon hearing the reaction of the tent dweller.

According to Susie, the man obnoxiously told her "put your toys back in the pram"!

Obviously as this tale appeared on Mail Online there were some very reasonable and measured comments below the story on what should have happened to the camper. These included "She should have cut his guy ropes", "She should have tied his zip well shut and attached a tow rope. Funny seeing him dragged out of town along the beach front," and best of all "A box of matches maybe would have enticed this nice fellow to move on. It's a tent for goodness sake, e.g highly flammable".
