Having already spent £4,200 on preparing the fields for the new season, the club were devastated to find that someone had set fire to 2nd/training pitch completely ruining it and burnt a patch on the main playing field. The fields are used for both training and playing games by Vardre rugby clubs Senior 1st and 2nd XV, Youth and 8 Junior teams as well as by both the Senior and Juniors of FC Clydach. As the field requiring the major repairs is the only one with floodlights, it is vital that we can get the pitch repaired and in a playable condition as soon as possible before the nights get shorter. The club is run on a tight budget and having already spent out a considerable amount of money in recent months on the pitches we would be grateful for any donations that can help us repair the fields for all within the local community who use them.
