FANS CALL FOR LEICESTER GROUNDSMAN TO BE KNIGHTED!
Another amazing desgn for the champions

Leicester's John Ledwidge who won TurfPro's Young Gorundsman of the Year Award in 2012
Following champions Leicester City's final home game of the season, fans were once again singing the praises of groundsman John Ledwidge, reports the Daily Mirror.

Saturday's special celebratory design saw the team (and opera star Andrea Bocelli!) run out on a stunning surface featuring diamond shapes and different coloured stars.

John, who won the TurfPro Young Groundsman of the Year award in 2012, had fans taking to Twitter voice their appriciation of his work.

Comments included:
  • Leicester's groundsman has really outdone himself today
  • Leicester City's groundsman is the real champion
  • That groundsman at Leicester is a whizz with the machinery. That pitch looks ridiculously good again.
  • Forget Vardy, Mahrez and Kante the head groundsman at Leicester is the real hero of their season
  • Leicester's groundsman team are a group of artists, the pitch has been their canvas all season
And perhaps most significantly:  Leicester City's groundsman deserves a knighthood.
