PROMOTOR ON AS SUPER-SUB
For improved specification A20

Richard Brown, Amenity Sales Manager for Germinal Seeds (GB)
Germinal Seeds has revitalised its sports pitch seed mixture, A20 Premier Ryesport, with the inclusion of Promotor Perennial Ryegrass.

Promotor replaces Vitellius in the standard A20 mixture..

“Promotor is available for the first time now that a new crop of seed has been harvested and will make up 15% of the A20 seed mixture,” explains Richard Brown, Amenity Sales Manager for Germinal Seeds (GB).

“Promotor gives strong performance across all the important parameters on the BSPB’s Table S1 list for sports use with excellent scores for shoot density [7.4], recovery [7.4], live ground cover [7.4] and visual merit following wear [7.4]. As such it perfectly complements the other varieties within the standard A20 mixture.”

Historically, A20 Premier Ryesport has included a mixture of five high quality perennial ryegrasses including 25% Eugenius, 20% Vesuvius, 20% Cadix, 20% Carnac and 15% Vitellius. Going forwards the standard A20 mixture will now include Promotor instead of Vitellius.

Richard believes that the revised seed mixture offers users improvements across the most important cultivar characteristics.  “Pound for pound Promotor is better across those parameters that really matter,” he explains.  “By replacing Vitellius, the standard A20 mixture now offers improved shoot density, enhanced fineness of leaf and superior live ground cover after wear."
