Our Transport and Engineering section are seeking to appoint an experienced Workshop Technician, to be part of a team based at Red Hall, but may also be based and asked to work anywhere within the city boundary.

The successful candidate will be a highly flexible, well-motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest level of service. You must have a proven ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise your work and keep accurate records.

You will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of a diverse range of horticultural, agricultural, arboricultural machinery plant and equipment and have experience in carrying out electro / hydraulic diagnostics.

The post holder will be able to accurately record and diagnose faults and carry out specialist repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, including minor body, welding and fabrication work. All in accordance with a specified repair policy.

A full, clean driving licence is essential to allow the post holder to access remote sites and some lone working will be required. You must be willing to work evenings or weekends as over time where required.

Other duties include liaison with the manufactures on matters relating to warranty and repairs and to assist in the development of trainees and apprentices.

The work is rewarding and provides opportunities for career progression within the wider Parks and Countryside and other recreational service areas.
