MICK HUNT REPORTED TO BE LEAVING LORD'S
Daily Mail says retirement after next summer
It was reported by Charles Sale in the Daily Mail last Thursday that legendary Lord's head groundsman Mick Hunt, will retire next summer - after what will be 49 years working for the MCC.
Mick Hunt
Sale wrote, "Hunt, 65, feels in good health after fighting cancer since 2008, something which has never affected his ability to do the job.
"But he has told his MCC bosses that he doesn't want to continue with the major responsibilities that go with the Lord's role for more than another year."
If Mick Hunt does bow out next year as reported it means he will not be in charge at the Home Of Cricket for the next home Ashes series and for the Word Cup which will take place in 2019.
It will no doubt be a very thorough and wide-ranging process for the MCC to find a replacement to step into Mick's shoes.
