AND FINALLY . . . Sprinklers stop play for Barbarians vs Samoa
The Rugby World Cup warm-up match between Barbarians and Somoa at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday was cooled down as automatic sprinklers turned on mid-way through the first half, halting proceedings.
In the 24th minute of the 27-24 victory for Barbarians, the automatic pitch sprinklers at one end of the ground went off, soaking some of the nearby players. Play was stopped temporarily whilst the problem was dealt with, but from the footage it did seem that at least some of the coaching staff saw the funny side.
However according to the Daily Mail many fans weren't so happy with the overall experience of the Olympic Stadium with a ticketing fault causing half-hour queues to gain entry to the ground. Other complaints included some seats being so far away from the pitch spectators couldn't see the players numbers on their shirts, a lack of bins in the toilets and difficulty purchasing alcohol.
