NEW STADIUM SEED LAUNCHED
RPR from Barenbrug praised by Wigan
Grass expert, Barenbrug UK, has launched RPR Stadium, grass seed for UK stadiums. The company says it solves the four biggest challenges faced by stadium managers - in one mix.
Wigan Athletic's DW Stadium Ian Forshaw is Head Groundsman at the £30m Wigan DW Stadium, says: “Incredibly, we’ve had five games on the pitch and the grass is only 13 weeks old. It’s practically undamaged and in pristine condition. RPR STADIUM has drastically reduced the amount of time we have to spend repairing the grass. Great for our small team of three.” Barenbrug says the perennial ryegrass blend has also been tested by their customers, delivers four key traits: - Ultimate wear tolerance
- Camera-ready colour
- Disease tolerance
- Fast recovery
Dr David Greenshields, Research and Development Manager at Barenbrug said, “Our latest R&D programme using Digital Image Analysis, allows us to analyse European winter sports ryegrass performance under wear in the UK. The research objectively confirms that Barorlando and Barcristalla offer an unparalleled combination of wear tolerance and dark genetic colour—at levels previously unseen.” RPR STADIUM is made up of 35% BARORLANDO perennial ryegrass, 35% BARCRISTALLA perennial ryegrass and 30% BARLIBRO RPR perennial ryegrass.
