IOG COLLOBORATE WITH ESSMA
On European recognition of grounds professionals

The European Stadium and Safety Management Association (ESSMA),  the Europe-wide organisation for stadium, safety and head grounds managers, and the Institute of Groundmanship (IOG) have announced they are to work closely to recognise the importance of professional groundsmanship in Europe.

The organisations will share knowledge and expertise through education and events including pitch management workshops. In addition, both parties will create business intelligence information for groundsmen and women.

Commenting, ESSMA president John Beattie, said: “We believe that the partnership with the IOG allows us to share information and knowledge with an excellent platform, from which all groundsmen in Europe will benefit.”

Geoff Webb, chief executive of the IOG, the leading membership organisation for everyone involved in the management of sports pitches, landscape and amenity facilities in the UK, added: “The IOG is delighted to be collaborating with ESSMA. Both organisations have aspirations to raise standards and professionalism and to create opportunities within the profession of modern day grounds management.

"We look forward to working with ESSMA and welcoming ESSMA to our SALTEX event in Birmingham this November.”
