JOHN WILSON DEPARTS RUTHERFORD
Long serving MD steps down today

 
J Rutherford (Earlston)
John Wilson, managing director of Borders dealership, J Rutherford (Earlston) is to leave the company.

In a letter to customers and suppliers he says, "Following careful consideration and by mutual agreement, I have decided to leave the company on 14 February 2014. Following a number of recent changes, I believe that it is in the best interests of the company that I stand down as Managing Director, and wish the business and staff all the very best for the future."

Rutherford started in Earlston in 1911 from which time it has been family owned, owned  today by Mrs Ann Rutherford and her daughter Mrs Jane Millar.

John Wilson joined the company in 1976 and became Group Managing Director in 1999 responsible for the agricultural dealership, SEAT car dealership, filling station and trailer centre operated out of two depots at Rhymers Mill and East Linton.

John Wilson told Service Dealer that he was hoping to continue in the agricultural machinery business and was looking at new opportunities in the indsutry (he can be contacted on 07702 222397).
