Attendance well down this year

Glee

Glee 2013 attracted 7,600 visitors this year, down from 9,800 in 2012. The show is planning a revamp in 2014 with a move to different halls in the NEC.

Commenting show director Matt Mein said: "We were pleased but what we need to do is understand the market now," adding that the Sunday opening experiment needed more analysis after exhibitors reported a quiet day.

In total 472 suppliers exhibited at the 2013 show, including over 160 brand new exhibitors to Glee, as well as 69 international exhibitors - and some 26 per cent of visitors had never before visited the show.

During the period, 2003 - 2007, the three day show attracted an average of 24,000 visitors, a number that has steadily been in decline since 2008 - although the show has fragmented in that time with the garden furniture sector and pet sector running their own events.
