Adrian Winnett has been elected President of the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).  He took up office following the Association’s Annual General Meeting on 9 April held ahead of its Annual Conference and Lunch at 1 Great George Street, London, the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Etesia’s Les Malin was elected Vice-President.

Adrian first began his career in the family run business C.W. Winnett & Son, an agricultural and grasscare dealership in Northamptonshire. He subsequently joined the Argo Group, as an Italian Product Specialist for McCormick Tractors International, and after 12 months was internally promoted to the National Sales Manager of Landini UK.

In 2009 he was appointed as General Manager for Amazone Ltd in Harworth, were he lead a team of 30 employees, before he was promoted to Managing Director in 2014.
In September 2018, he returned to AgriArgo UK Ltd as Managing Director where he took over from Ray Spinks who had stepped down from the role after 40 years working in the farm equipment industry.

The AEA Conference was attended by over 200 people and attracted a fine line-up of speakers including Paul Johnson, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies;  Anand Menon, Professor of European Politics at Kings College London, a regular panellist on BBC TV Question Time; Jeremy Moody from the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and Swedish tech entrepreneur, Joakim Jardenburg and the world’s only Head of Internet emeritus.

Lunchtime speaker was the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor, John Pienaar, who was able to provide a running commentary on the on-going Brexit saga - and the event was rounded off with the traditional post-conference gathering at the nearby Westminster Arms
