REA VALLEY TRACTORS INVEST Extends range of satellite services
Following Rea Valley Tractors recent investment in their RTK network, the John Deere dealership has announced a new range of Precision Farming services. Available from all four depots across the Midlands and Mid Wales, RVT’s aim is to further enable its customers to take the next step in gaining efficiencies and cost savings from the benefits of Precision Farming.
RVT RTK was launched in mid June 2014. RTK (Real Time Kinematic) is a satellite correction signal which provides 2cm accuracy to agricultural machinery with GPS receivers for John Deere and non-John Deere systems such as Trimble and Topcon. The service supplies a correction signal to most brands of RTK GPS receivers allowing customers to avoid the expense of installing a base station at individual locations and reduce running costs.
The new services include:
Boundary logging, field creation and pre-season data clean up
Tramline and guidance line set up
Remote in-field moisture monitoring with John Deere Field Connect
Independent soil mapping (nutrients only or full analysis)
Potato variety mapping and traceability reports
Yield map analysis, processing and offtake map creation
Creation of prescription/variable rate maps
In field machine set up for prescription rate applications
Management of wireless data transfer applications via MyJohnDeere.com
Set up of work plans within Gatekeeper (using Wireless Data Transfer to machinery)
To accompany these new services additional Precision Farming hardware offerings are available including the new Greenstar Rate Controller, which allows rate and section control on an extensive range of non-Isobus spreaders, sprayers, drills and planters made by many different manufacturers (for example, use headland section control on potato planters and maize drills).
These services are not exclusive to John Deere users. RVT will provide bespoke fitting of its technologies to both John Deere & non John Deere machines and equipment alike. Together with introductory and advanced user training courses, RVT will ensure operators get maximum benefit and efficiency from their Precision Farming equipment.
