AND FINALLY . . Strewth it's the wrong kind of mower
A LAWNMOWER was called as a exhibit at a trial in Cairns in Australia last month in which council-gardener, Raymond Sharp, is suing his employer alleging unsafe work systems after a mowing incident in 2009 saw him lose the tip of his finger.
Legal representatives for the council wheeled a lawnmower through security and into the courthouse, prompting Judge Bill Everson to question why he needed to see it. “I mowed the lawn at the weekend and am familiar enough with the machinery” he said.
He later allowed the mower to be produced, but then it became apparent that it was the wrong model - and the case had to be adjourned for an exact replica to be sourced.
