Dr. Hermann Garbers is to resign from the CLAAS Executive Board and will transfer responsibility for Technology and Quality to Thomas Böck as of 1st October 2014.
"Dr. Garbers has made a significant contribution to technological developments at CLAAS over several decades. In the 1990s, he was Chief Developer for the new LEXION combine harvester range. However, his tremendous creativity and empathy always had a positive effect across the company. It resulted in Dr. Garbers being in charge of the fortunes of Europe's largest inter-trade organisation in the agricultural engineering industry thanks to his role as Chairperson of the Agricultural Machinery sector of the VDMA (German Engineering Federation)," says Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser, Chairperson of the CLAAS Supervisory Board.
His successor is Thomas Böck, who is currently the Technical Director of CLAAS Saulgau GmbH. At the same time, Hermann Lohbeck will also join the Executive Board on 1st October 2014, and will assume responsibility for the Business Unit Forage and for CLAAS Saulgau GmbH from Dr. Theo Freye. Thus far, Lohbeck has been the Chief Financial Officer of CLAAS Selbstfahrende Erntemaschinen GmbH.
