The first Trimax X-WAM wide-area rotary mowers to be sold into the UK turf industry have been put to work by two of the country's leading turf growers, Inturf and Lindum Turf Ltd, both companies having their headquarters near York.

Supplied to the two well-known turf growers by specialist Trimax dealer, Campey Turf Care Systems, the X-WAM has a 10.4m (34ft) width of cut making it the widest commercially- available rotary roller mower in Europe.
The sale of two identical high-value machines by Campey into the UK market secured an outstanding sales achievement award for the firm from Trimax. Previously, the only X-WAM supplied by Trimax within the United Kingdom had been to Knotty Hill Golf Centre in County Durham, where it is being used each week throughout the growing season to mow 54 fairways.
Joint managing director of Inturf, Stephen Edwards, said that the firm had been looking at wider-area mowing systems for some time and had settled on the X-WAM for several reasons.
"We had seen the mower working at two TGA Turf Shows and liked the fact that it has full-width rollers front and rear which, we felt, would prevent any risk of scalping," he explained. "A second plus point was the excellent up-draught from the high-lift cutting blades, helping the mower produce a close, even cut across the full mowing width, further enhanced by the even dispersal of grass clippings."
