STIHL CUTS DEEPER INTO THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR
New STIHL GS 461 concrete saw - a breakthrough in efficiency on construction sites

STIHL GS 461 concrete saw

Now even the toughest cutting jobs on a construction site take next to no time. The new GS 461 is STIHL's latest addition to its construction equipment line, and plunges the brand's cutting-edge expertise literally deeper into the sector.  A powerful tool for wet cutting materials like concrete, natural stone or sewage pipes, the new STIHL concrete saw cuts up to 40cm deep with accuracy and speed, and enables corners and openings to be efficiently cut. That makes it ideal for new build and renovation projects, civil engineering and emergency services' use.

STIHL has put its great expertise in the construction tool market into development of a new concrete saw that is a tough, fast performer and really easy to use. A breakthrough in the efficiency and design of these tools, the new GS 461 represents a significant step forward for users of a concrete saw.

Compact, well-balanced design
STIHL's expert design engineers have ensured the new GS 461 is compact, well-balanced and simply great to handle. At 7.6kg it may be low in weight yet its performance and handling set it above the rest. The compact design makes it really manoeuvrable, and users of a STIHL cut-off saw will recognise familiar start-up procedures, handling and controls, so they will naturally feel comfortable with the new concrete saw.

High cutting performance
In use the new concrete saw is a truly high-performance contender, thanks to its advanced and reliable engine and an exclusive high-grade diamond abrasive chain. That means work gets done quicker and thus more cost-efficiently.

STIHL develops the cutting attachments for all its power tools, ensuring a perfect match with the machine and giving a top cutting edge. The new GS 461 is no exception, and the exclusive diamond abrasive chain is characterised by long life, fast, smooth cutting and excellent plunge performance.

The robust STIHL guide bar with a hardened bar rail for longer life, features interior water routing that cools and flushes both the guide bar and chain. Water is fed accurately into the cut, binding dust at that point, whilst flushing nozzles are angled towards the bar nose, directing water to the areas of highest stress. And making life better for the user, the water connection (a standard 'click' fitting), plus water flow control, are mounted neatly on the side of the machine for easy access and simple water connection.

Advanced engine performance
As ever with STIHL products, many benefits of the new concrete saw are hidden within. The advanced 4.3kW STIHL 2-MIX engine for example, is efficient in terms of both fuel consumption and emissions. Crucially it delivers the high torque required over a wide speed range. The long-life air filter system - using the cyclonic pre-filtration found on STIHL cut-off saws - is ideal for use in the tough conditions of a construction site, and traps even fine dust. The filter is accessed without the need for tools and HD2 filter itself gives a long service life and can be physically 'washed' clean.

Practical details
Practicality is another fundamental to every STIHL power tool, and again a key benefit of the new concrete saw. Take the fuel filling system for example, which means the saw is fuelled in the upright position and the bayonet-style fuel cap removed without tools. Of course STIHL has ensured controls are easily operated even in thick working gloves. The saw itself stands stable and clear from the ground, minimising contact of elements like the water connection with the dirt of a construction site. Chain tensioning is readily accessed via the sprocket cover on the side of the machine and even the nuts on the sprocket cover are captive so they will not drop off and get lost on the ground.

Available now
Practical, efficient, reliable and tough, the new STIHL GS 461 concrete saw is available now from the trusted and established network of specialist STIHL Approved Dealers. Full product specifications are on the STIHL website
