CAUTION URGED OVER TYRE SITE Tyreleader based out of Germany
Service Dealer has been contacted by a reader who is advising caution over a tyre sales website offering Agricultural, ATV, Cars and Commercials tyres.
The name that the site runs as is Tyreleader.co.uk. Actually based in Germany, but with an office in France.
He says, "We were trying to find hard to come by Yokohamas for my wife's Subaru H6 Outback. Found them at the above. Ordered them online at a reasonable, but not cheap price. Site had good reveiws from Trust Pilot. Set up account with all details. Received reply with order confirmation, invoice etc.
"To cut a long story short, we are now claiming our payment back through Barclaycard. No tyres, not able to log onto account, could not renew password, no communication whatsoever. Phone/fax numbers, nor email, don't work etc. Lucky we paid by credit card and not our company debit card.
"I wonder how many folks in our industry have been hooked by what seems to be a perfectly legit website."
Editor's Note: We have no further evidence over the validity of the Tyreleader site, but there are question marks over the Trustpilot review site through which Tyreleader channels its reviews. Almost without exception, Tyreleader is lauded with 5-star reviews by Trustpilot. However an independent review site is full of posts casting doubt on the validity of Trustpilot, based in Denmark, suggesting that only paid-for posts are carried.
If anyone else has any experience of either Tyreleader or Trustpilot, we would be pleased to hear from you
