Unions agree new contract with company

Briggs & Stratton

IN the US, union employees have ratified a new labor contract with Briggs & Stratton.

Workers voted 268-82 in favor of the proposal on Wednesday afternoon say B& S. The move came after two votes rejecting previous proposals were held in August and October. Those votes were held on weekends and saw much lower voter turnout.

Briggs & Stratton says that it is “pleased” to have reached an agreement with the United Steelworkers union which represents 395 Briggs workers at factories in Wauwatosa and Menomonee Falls.

The approved four-year agreement includes salary agreements, and changes health benefits to match those of salaried employees.
