STIHL
Lithium-Ion power highlighted

2014 has seen a real surge in professionals' demand for STIHL cordless power tools, as users recognise the value of their quiet performance and resolute power. The year has also seen impressive additions to the family of professional Lithium-Ion tools with STIHL's first cordless top-handled chainsaw, a telescopic pole pruner and its best-selling hedge trimmer now offering a choice of blade lengths. Visitors to SALTEX can see and handle the comprehensive range plus another exciting addition arriving in autumn this year: the world's first cordless cut-off saw will mean even hard-landscaping and groundworks can be carried out more quietly and simply than ever before.

STIHL HTA 85 cordless pole pruner

Low emissions, low vibrations and reliable performance: just three of the fundamental requirements of a professional's power tool, and all amply delivered in the STIHL cordless range. Emissions are zero, vibrations extremely low and thanks to the minimal moving parts of their quality brushless electric motors, reliable performance is a given too.

Additional benefits of STIHL cordless tools are their quiet performance, meaning professionals can work in noise-sensitive places like hospitals, schools and public parks without disturbing the peace. That often means they can work any time of day, adding to productivity and ultimately to a contractor's bottom line. Every garden tool in the STIHL cordless range has a Quiet Mark 2014 accreditation from the UK Noise Abatement Society - meaning it has been judged amongst the quietest in class.

Powerful range
The STIHL cordless range in 2014 spans a total nine different tools (11 different models), meaning a great variety of groundscare and soft-landscaping tasks can be carried out quietly and efficiently with its battery power. What makes the STIHL cordless range a truly viable professionals' choice is that only one battery is needed to power multiple tools. STIHL has been developing its battery technology since the launch of the range and today offers a choice of three interchangeable in-tool batteries plus an extra long-running backpack battery that powers most tools all day.

New in 2014
New to the range this year and joining the comprehensive STIHL line-up at SALTEX, a new cordless top-handled arb chainsaw is perfect for pruning and remedial tree care. What gives the new MSA 160 T arb chainsaw particular appeal: operators may not need to wear ear defenders when using this chainsaw, making it easier to communicate with colleagues on the ground and thus contributing to a safer working situation. Naturally its quiet performance also means work may be carried out in noise sensitive areas - as is the case with STIHL's first cordless pole pruner that has just joined the range. The HTA 85 pole pruner extends between 2.7 and 3.9 metres overall, so even five metre high branches can be pruned quietly, efficiently and safely from the ground. Fans of the STIHL cordless range will welcome the new products, along with an addition to its best-selling hedge trimmer choice, with the powerful standard HSA 86 model now available with either the current 62cm or new 45cm blade length.

Another world-first from STIHL
Trimming hedges, pruning trees, cutting wood and much more, the STIHL cordless range offers a tool for numerous landscaping and groundscare applications. Now some hard-landscaping projects can be tackled with STIHL's cordless power too, with the world's first cordless cut-off saw arriving soon. Showing at SALTEX and available this autumn, the STIHL TSA 230 cut-of saw will cut neatly and swiftly up to 70mm deep, making it ideal for cutting stone tiles for paving or bricks for a wall. With the capacity to cut through even steel and metal pipes, it could be used for creating a water feature or laying a drainage system, and when outdoor work is finished it can also be used to tackle cutting jobs indoors.

STIHL cordless power tools plus its comprehensive range of petrol-driven machines will all be on show at SALTEX 2014, and the expert STIHL team will guide visitors on the best tools for their task.
