Norman Stuckey, former editor of BAGMA's AGM Service magazine has died at the age of 96. He passed away last Friday at his home in Hertfordshire after a short illness.
Norman joined BAGMA on 1 July 1966 when the Association was based at Penn Place in Rickmansworth. He joined Linda Palmer who had joined a year earlier, and the pair produced the highly regarded BAGMA Service magazine which Norman edited with Linda handling the advertising.
The magazine continued until 1994 when the Association ran into financial troubles, and the assets and liabilites were taken over by the British Hardware Federation (now BIRA), then headed by Jonathan Swift, a former Director General who had left BAGMA in 1986 to take up the role of BHF Group Managing Director.
Norman and Linda went on to publish GAME (Garden and Agricultural Machinery Equipment) and were also responsible for producing the Horological Journal, the magazine for the watch and clock trade.
